Ursula Rakova berichtet über den aktuellen Stand in Tinputz, dem von Tulele Peisa für die Umsiedlung organisierten Gelände auf Bougainville: “Wir haben dort inzwischen zwei permanten Häuser, vier weitere sind im Bau.” Noch einmal vier weitere sollen bis März nächsten Jahres entstehen, ist sie optimistisch.” Pflanzen für den Eigenbedarf der umgesiedelten Carteret-Bewohner sowie zum Verkauf wüchsen gut.
“Ich bin begeistert über die Fortschritte”, schreibt Ursula – obwohl es mit der Regierung von Bougainville nach wie vor Unstimmigkeiten über die Umsiedlung gebe. Bougainvilles Präsident John Momis hat allerdings inzwischen nicht nur die Carteret-Inseln persönlich besucht, sondern danach auch laut Post Courier öffentlich Fortschritte versprochen.

“We have 2 locally built houses on site, 2 permanent houses, 4 more permanent houses going up and 4 more to be built this year or early next year. We hope to get the houses fully completed by March 2012. Gardens and cash crops growing more steady each day. I am quite excited by the progress we’re making”, writes Ursula Rakova.
Yet she is still dissatisfied concerning the Bougainville procince’s support for Tulele Peisa relocation efforts. Bougainville’s president John Momis, however, has recently toured the atolls and publicly promised to speed up relocation plans, according to the Post Courier.
